Digitally Sign Documents
You can sign most documents directly on your computer (digitally) without need to print, put pen to paper, and scan. This can be especially useful in work-from-home scenarios where access to printers and scanners may be limited. The version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (and the Preview app for Mac users) installed on your Fuller computer has the built-in capacity to digitally sign PDF documents. Here’s how:
-
Open the PDF document you need to sign in Adobe Acrobat Reader (if it’s not in PDF format, you can convert it using the capability built into your OS – for Mac users, or in MS Word – for Windows users)
-
In the menu along the right of the document, click the “Fill & Sign” button
-
In the subsequent window choose the “Fill & sign” option
-
Scroll down to the signature area of the document and then click the “Sign” button in the menu bar along the top the window.
-
If you don’t already have a signature saved, click the “Add Initials” option
-
In the corresponding window you can simply sign your signature using your trackpad or mouse. Or you may also upload an image of your signature if you have it saved as a separate document on your computer. When done, click the “Apply” button
-
Now you can simply drag your signature to the appropriate spot in the document. You can even make it larger, if necessary.
Employing this tool can save hours of time (and maybe a few trees) by eliminating the need to print, sign and scan your documents. If you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Tech Support for further assistance.
